Dr. Jean-Charles wins 2023 Excellence in Work to Foster Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Award

Congratulations to Africana Studies Director, Dr. Régine Michelle Jean-Charles, for winning the faculty 2023 excellence award in work to foster DEIB.

Her win came with the following nomination:

Régine Jean-Charles exemplifies what it means to be a champion for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in words and practice. She co-leads Northeastern’s Black Faculty and Staff Association and the working group on research on race. She is a highly effective mentor of faculty and students. And she is a prominent organizer of and speaker in university and community discussions on racial justice issues with a deep commitment to Black feminism and intersectional lenses.
