The Fight to be Heard, Seen, and Understood: The Power of the Collective

Annual 2020 Mixer for the Africana Studies Program and the John D. O'Bryant Institute

The Africana Studies Program and the John. D. O’Bryant African American Institute present their annual 2020 mixer as a continuation of our series “The Fight to be Heard, Seen, and Understood.” The mixer was inspired by a Town Hall the Institute held for Black students where they expressed they wanted more opportunities to meet Black faculty and Staff on campus. This year, the theme of the mixer is The Power of the Collective – we will have representatives from undergraduate student organizations, graduate students, staff, and faculty of color speak, share Africana-inspired libations, and share resources and stories with one another.
