BARI Researchers work featured in News at Northeastern

BARI Co-Director Rob Sampson, Associate Director of Research on Social Media Ryan Wang, and Post-Doc Nolan Phillips have been conducting research on segregation and urban mobility, which was recently featured in News at Northeastern.

The project uses geo-tagged twitter data to estimate users’ home location and analyze their travel patterns across the largest 50 cities in the United States. Their findings? Not only does segregation by race and socioeconomic status persist, but findings were consistent across all 50 cities.
