CSSH Participates in PhD Student Recruitment Event

The College of Social Science and Humanities (CSSH) was pleased to participate in VIEW Northeastern to recruit students from a variety of backgrounds including, but not limited to, applicants who are from historically underserved and underrepresented populations. The event was hosted on November 2nd, 2018, and welcomed approximately 20 students from across the country.  The event started with an opening welcome by CSSH Dean Uta Poiger and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, Natasha Frost.

During the day-long event, prospective PhD student applicants visited graduate programs related their interests, toured campus, and engaged in discussion with current Ph.D. students. In the afternoon, Professor Ellen Cushman, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion and Chair of the CSDI Advisory Council, together with Professors Neal Lerner and Greg Zimmerman, hosted a workshop on writing Personal Statements.

In this spirit, the College of Social Science and Humanities was pleased to support the Northeastern View recruitment event for potential PhD students reflecting the College’s commitment to recruit and retain excellent and diverse students.
