Latin@, Latin American, and Caribbean Studies (LLACS) at Northeastern is an interdepartmental program designed to provide students with a rigorous and flexible multidisciplinary approach to the study of the Caribbean and Latin America. The program offers a wide variety of courses in local and regional contexts while also exploring their transnational interactions and their global diasporas, especially in the United States. In so doing, it encourages students think critically about the complex ways that people in Latin America and the Caribbean countries have been involved with one another and with the rest of the world from Ancient times to the present. The minor & major combine coursework across historical, artistic and literary, political, economic and social, and linguistic frameworks, with a strong experiential component.
