We are excited to share that this year's Symposium will take place on Saturday, January 25 at the Raytheon Amphitheater from 12pm to 5pm.
The Boston Symposium on Economics (BSOE) is an annual, student-run conference hosted by Northeastern University’s Women in Economics and Economics Society.
This year’s theme is “Political Economics and Election Evaluation,” focusing on the latest U.S. presidential election. The event will take place on Saturday, January 25, from 12 PM to 5 PM at the Raytheon Amphitheatre in the Egan Research Center. The symposium is open to all majors and is a great way to get engaged with relevant topics affecting our world today. Attendees will gain insights into political economics, election studies, and voter trends. The symposium aims to shed light on the science behind elections, encouraging discussions that go beyond the candidates to explore the broader scope of voters and societies.
The event features a variety of keynote speakers and panel discussions, including Dr. Jeffrey Miron, Dr. Rita “Kiki” Edozie, and Lisa de Rafols. The schedule includes opening remarks at 12:45 PM, followed by individual speaker sessions, a break with refreshments, and a speaker panel at 3:15 PM. The symposium will conclude with closing remarks at 4:15 PM and a networking session at 4:30 PM. This gathering is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in critical economic issues to engage with experts from academia, business, nonprofit, and policymaking realms.
The event is organized by students Isabella Ratto, Mackenzie Sucher, Crystal Lin, and the Women in Economics & Economics Society E-Boards.
