Professor Green to be Associate Dean of Teaching, Learning, and Experiential Education

The Department of English is pleased to share news of Professor Laura Green’s appointment as Associate Dean of Teaching, Learning and Experiential Education in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Professor Green will start her three-year term in July 2017. Professor Green has held a number of administrative positions since she joined Northeastern University in 2001, including Chair of the Department of English (2009-2015), Graduate Program Director, Acting Director of the Northeastern Humanities Center, and Chair of the Undergraduate Academic Advisory Committee. She is currently the book review co-editor of Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society and will be the Acting Director of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies during 2017-18. She succeeds Professor of English Chris Gallagher, the college’s inaugural Associate Dean of Teaching, Learning and Experiential Education.

Professor Laura Green is a scholar Victorian literature; her research focuses on the culture, history and theory of the novel, and women’s, gender and sexuality studies. She is the author, most recently, of Literary Identification: From Charlotte Brontë to Tsitsi Dangarembga (Ohio State UP, 2012).
