Professor Aljoe appointed Director of African American Studies

On Monday, the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities announced Professor Nicole N. Aljoe’s appointment as Director of African and African American Studies effective July 1, 2018.  “Nicole is well positioned to lead a reconceptualization of the program, and to build its many links across campus, in Boston and beyond,” wrote Dean Poiger.  “She brings an award-winning record of excellence in research, teaching, and advising; she has a deep commitment to the Public Humanities; and she has demonstrated leadership in the development of important diversity and inclusion initiatives with colleagues across the university.”
