Claire Boeing-Reicher

Line pattern

Part-Time Lecturer ~ Seattle Campus

Originally from the Chicago area, Dr. Boeing-Reicher has close to 25 years of experience as a statistical consultant, academic, economist, and business data scientist. While her PhD, in Economics, covered the measurement of historical labor market trends, her academic work focused on pinning down causality in macroeconomic time-series, and in making these causal patterns intelligible for decision makers. She spent eight years as a researcher at IfW Kiel in Germany. She then left academia and went into tech, spending three years as a senior economist at Amazon, and almost four years as a principal economist at Zillow, where she focused on supporting decision making in a causally dense environment. Outside of work, she could be found optimizing the taste of brewed coffee, for which Seattle has great water, rummaging through historical archives, or heading off to the Olympic rain forest for a weekend.
