Katharina Neissl

Visiting Lecturer of Criminology and Criminal Justice
Katharina Neissl is joining Northeastern as Visiting Lecturer for the academic year of 2021/2022. She holds a PhD in Criminology and Justice Policy from Northeastern University. She also holds a master’s degree in Statistics, as well as bachelor’s degrees in Statistics and Sociology from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria. Katharina’s research interests focus on juvenile justice and delinquency, comparative criminology, and criminological theory. Her dissertation examined how dimensions of the political economy affect juvenile court outcomes, and whether they can be used to explain variation in gender and race/ethnicity effects across jurisdictions in one state in the United States.
