Assistant Teaching Professor of Spanish
In addition to language pedagogy, María Brucato’s areas of specialization are 20th century peninsular literature and contemporary U.S. Latino/a literature. Prior to joining the World Languages Center at Northeastern, Dr. Brucato developed many university courses and directed several foreign language programs both domestically and abroad. Her objective is to encourage students to broaden their horizons and to prepare them to meet the demands of working in an era of globalization. Achieving this goal entails not only focusing on foreign language competency but also fostering cultural awareness. It is her belief that learning a second language should be both educationally significant and a personally gratifying experience.
