Maria Catrina D. Jaime has expertise in community-based research related to violence prevention and sexual and reproductive health among adolescent and young adults, including marginalized youth (juvenile justice involved youth, homeless and foster youth). She recently conducted a community-engaged qualitative research study to understand the ways concepts of race and masculinity shape young men’s pregnancy intentions and attitudes towards partner communication, pregnancy, contraception, abortion, and family planning. Dr. Jaime is the co-chair of the American Public Health Association, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Task Force and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Contraception.
