Gayle Mackay, director of personnel administration for the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, was recently recognized by her community with the “Good Neighbor” award for community service. Established in 1954, the award is presented annually to a resident of Houghs Neck, Mass., in recognition of their dedication to community betterment.
Mackay, a lifetime resident of Houghs Neck and a member of the Northeastern University community for 23 years, was acknowledged for her community engagement, which includes Mothers Club, choir, and fundraising committee. She has also tutored English as a second language, served as an Art Docent at Atherton Hough elementary school, and actively participated in the Rock Island Cove Improvement Association. Mackay was presented with the award at the “Good Neighbor” Awards Banquet in October.
