Graduation Tuition, Fees, and Funding

Northeastern University offers two forms of graduate financial aid.

  1. Fellowships and assistantships — These are awarded to full-time degree candidates through the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Graduate Office, at the recommendation of its departments. There is no separate application for assistantships. Students can indicate interest in an assistantship via the “Financial Assistance” section in the online admission application.
  2. The Student Financial Services Office administers federal financial aid and alternative educational loan programs — Interested applicants must complete a FAFSA form.

All admitted Ph.D. students receive full funding — tuition, stipend, and student health insurance.

In order to receive priority consideration for financial support, the deadline for MA applications is Friday, February 7, 2020.

Questions about award and scholarship eligibility should be directed to Victoria Cain, Graduate Program Director, at v.cain@northeastern.edu.  You can also visit the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Financial Aid & Awards page.

Information about tuition and fees are available on the Student Financial Services website. They are subject to revision by the University’s President and the Board of Trustees.
