Halima Haruna has been awarded the 2026-27 Margaret Vining and Bart Hacker Fellowship in Women’s Military History. Halima will spend six months in residence at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, conducting research on her dissertation about African Americans and disability rights in the post-Civil War era.
