Dr. Louise Walker has received the Faculty Senate Distinguished Service Award. This award honors exceptional contributions to shared governance through outstanding service in the Faculty Senate. Nominators described Dr. Walker as someone who:
- has worked diligently and thoughtfully to advance the Academic Freedom at NU
- her constant presence in the senate remind us all about the importance of free speech and freedom of expression
- is a bridge builder whose dogged efforts as a senator give me hope that faculty may, again, have a seat at the decision-making table and the selection committee heartily concurs.
