2015-16 Humanities Center Fellow Announces Book on Graffiti Writers and the Spaces They Occupy

Charles Lesh (PhD ’16) has announced the upcoming release of his book, The Writing of Where: Graffiti and the Production of Writing Spaces, set to be published in May 2022 by Syracuse University Press. This book builds from Lesh’s dissertation, “Writing Spaces and Places: a Geoethnography of Graffiti Writing in Boston.” Lesh was awarded a Northeastern Humanities Center graduate fellowship in 2015-16 and defended his dissertation in April 2016 under the direction of Professor Chris Gallagher. Lesh is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Auburn University.
