25-26 Humanities in Action Spotlight
The following students represent the inaugural cohort of Humanities in Action: Global Experiential Research Assistantships — thirteen undergraduate researchers bringing fresh perspectives and collaborative energy to five Signature Projects across Northeastern’s global network. Behind each project is a team of curious, dedicated students whose immersive, hands-on contributions are shaping what publicly engaged humanities research looks like at Northeastern and beyond.
My favorite part is uncovering rarely discussed history; each archival fragment helps explain how and why history took a particular course, and this work has deepened my appreciation for the unity and resilience of the Wampanoag people and the importance of preserving even the parts of history people would rather leave buried. Beyond sharpening my research skills, I’ve built real patience through in-person archive work learning to set realistic timelines, take intentional breaks, and become better prepared because the process is never linear, and getting a little lost is part of what makes it worthwhile.
