Sharing Community Histories Showcase 2026 Friday, October 16 –9:30 am to 4 pm, Cabral Center, Northeastern University Boston
The Sharing Community Histories Network (SCHN) invites faculty and graduate students from New England area institutions of higher learning to submit proposals for presentations and posters for the Fall 2026 Showcase. The Sharing Community Histories Network fosters responsible community/university co-creation and co-curation of research and teaching projects in service of communities that surround Boston area campuses with emphasis on history, story-telling, archiving, the arts, and design.

The application includes:

Title of Collaboration
Abstract of the presentation or poster (up to 200 words, Poster size is 2×3 ft). Please indicate if you are submitting for a poster or a talk or both. If you submit for both, the selection committee will let you know for what modality your team has been accepted.
Bio or bios of presenters (up to 100 words each)
The goals of the showcase are to foster practice and knowledge exchanges about projects out of the humanities and arts and related fields that build collaborations between community partners, faculty members, and students.
The showcase will feature panels (guided by a moderator) with 15-minute presentations followed by Q&A and discussion, as well as two timeslots for poster showcases. During the poster showcase, teams will answer questions while the audience circulates.
Faculty and graduate students are encouraged to present with community partners and students. The SCH will help defray participation costs for partners and students (except Northeastern students) with a $100 gift certificate.
