Consandria Walker named head coach at UMass Boston

Only a few summer months separated the Hackensack, N.J. native from competing as a Husky at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship to trying to lead the Beacons’ to a Little East Conference title (Division III).As a four-year student-athlete for Northeastern from 2006-10, Walker set a precedent right from the get-go. In her first race as a rookie, Walker won the 55-meter dash (7.27) at her home track of the Reggie Lewis Center. Four years later, Walker qualified for her first NCAA Championship as a senior tri-captain. In early June 2010, Walker was showcased at the highest level of intercollegiate track & field and placed 46th, overall, in the triple jump with a mark of 11.58m (38’0).
