Our very own Lauren Taylor, HS alumna, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at CHI! Check out their announcement below!
Please Welcome Lauren Taylor to
Children’s Humanitarian International’s
Board of Directors
We welcome Lauren Taylor to Children’s Humanitarian International’s (CHI) Board of Directors. Lauren is not new to CHI. Lauren served as a chaperone for the inaugural 2016 CHI Summer Abroad program, she was also an integral part of the success of the program, helping promote and facilitating both before and after her departure to Kenya. She has deep roots in Sonoma County, but has traveled to many edges of the world including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica and more! Needless to say she has a love for immersing herself in other cultures. Lauren attributes much of her love for travel and culture to her first trip abroad which was through a Rotary Exchange trip to Kagoshima, Japan when she was 16 years old. “I want other teenagers to experience what I did at that age. The opportunity to see the world outside of our own backyard, especially as a teenager, is invaluable,” says Lauren. After graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, MA with her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Human Services; and a minor in Global Social Entrepreneurship, Lauren returned back to Sonoma County. For the past 5 years, Lauren has worked as the program coordinator for Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, a yearlong career exploration, leadership development, and community engagement program for high school juniors. After three years working with students in the Santa Rosa area, Lauren expanded the program to the west county. Currently, Lauren is pursuing her master’s in Public Administration from Sonoma State University while working full time with Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, which now operates as a program of the well-known non-profit, Social Advocates for Youth.Lauren is passionate, committed and deeply connected in the community. She brings a wide range of skills to the CHI Board and we know she will be a great contribution to the organization!
