Interested in studying the social life and the culture of Rome and Italy this summer? Dr. Becca Berkey and Dr. Daniel Faber have scheduled an information session for the upcoming Sociology and Human Services Dialogue of Civilizations course in Rome, Italy scheduled for Summer 1 of 2018.  The class will explore a range of topics, ranging from the refugee crisis, slow food politics, urban sociology, the mafia and organized crime’s influence over the Italian state, gender and family relations, gentrification, and so much more.  The Human Services companion course will work with a Refugee Center in Rome.  All the while we will explore the history of ancient Rome, and connect the past to the present.

The information session will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, from 5:30-6:30 in 409 Robinson Hall (right behind the Curry Student Center near the T tracks).

Pizza (of course!) and drinks (but not wine) will be provided.  Come here about this exciting journey to one of the world’s most captivating cities.
