Arab Countries in Transition: Gender Rights and Constitutional Reforms Beirut, Lebanon June 23-25, 2014

“Arab Countries in Transition: Gender Rights and Constitutional Reforms”, Beirut, 23-25 June 2014, organized by the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World, Lebanese American University, in collaboration with The Women and Memory Forum – Egypt; Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Rule of Law Program MENA Region; and the Danish Center for Information on Gender, Equality, and Diversity (KVINFO) – Denmark. Prof. Moghadam’s presentation provided a conceptual framework to explain and predict gendered outcomes of democratic transitions; analyzed the ongoing democratic transitions in Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia; and assessed the prospects for a women-friendly consolidation in the three countries.
