The Center for International Affairs and World Cultures draws on Northeastern University’s many strengths in the study of international institutions and processes, enhancing knowledge of world societies, politics, and cultures. The Center’s activities aim to advance interdisciplinary scholarship, programs of study, and transnational linkages. The Center coordinates the activities of area studies programs devoted to multiple geographic regions, while emphasizing four thematic concerns that span the globe:
The Center coordinates interdisciplinary degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It promotes a vibrant intellectual community whose activities are coordinated by its Global Studies Council, an interdisciplinary group of scholars who plan colloquia and working groups throughout the academic year. The Center’s activities are governed by its Executive Committee, which serves to link the Center to academic departments and units throughout Northeastern University’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities and beyond.
