Asian Studies Curriculum Award

The Asian Studies Curriculum Award supports Northeastern University faculty to develop new and innovative coursework on the comparative study of Asian societies.  This award intends to expand the range of Asia-related topics, and the range of pedagogical approaches to teaching about Asia, in the undergraduate curriculum at Northeastern.

The award may be received: as a grant to defray costs of research or outreach towards the development of new coursework (for example for travel abroad intended specifically to collect data or identify partners for the development of new coursework); or as a summer stipend to support time spent in course preparation.

Faculty will need to demonstrate support from their unit head indicating that the course will be offered within two academic years of the grant award.  The main criterion for this award will be the impact of the course on Asian Studies undergraduate curriculum at Northeastern University.


Deadline: March 31, 2020

Amount: One award of $2,500

Eligibility: Full time Northeastern faculty

Reporting Requirements

Successful applicants will submit a two-page, mid-year report and a two-page, final report to the CSSH Dean’s Office and the Asian Studies Program Director. Reporting grids will be sent to successful applicants with instructions and due dates. Mid-year and final reports will be submitted to her electronically via email.
