Project Description
Duties • Editing and Revision: Edits and/or proofreads manuscripts and other forms of copy for publication. Ensure all manuscripts align with WC submission guidelines, giving particular attention to APA Manual of Style formatting and style. May conduct light copyediting and small-scale revisions to manuscript language and graphics, at request of EICs. • Records Tracking: Assist the editors in maintaining an up-to-date record of all manuscripts in the pipeline for publication, in post-production, and published in the last 5 years. Retain a confirmed, up-to-date list of reviewer information (e.g., preferred names, titles, contact, and other pertinent info). • Social media and Print marketing: Lead the curation of a digital presence for Written Communication. Develop and propose a social media plan, selected platforms, language & graphics, and posting schedule that showcases recent publications, underscore new Journal action items, and celebrates other important information and milestones. o EA will collaborate with and be supported by the editorial team on writing copy, scaling social media goals, and establishing Written Communication’s online persona. • Software/Systems Expertise: Train in using the ScholarOne system by SAGE Publishing and gain familiarity with its web support resources. Collaborate with the EA to create internal documentation that offers guidelines, user instructions, or other necessities for more complex tools. Resulting will support the entire WCX team’s everyday workflow and future trainings.

Qualifications Necessary
Related experience in Editing for journals or other mass-publications (print and online). • Prior knowledge of Editing protocols and workflows, specifically experience with copyediting across levels (light, medium, and heavy). • Excellent working knowledge of various citation and formatting styles including, MLA; APA; CMOS. • Tools: MS Office (Word; Excel; PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs; Sheets); • Proficiency with editing & review features in MS Word (e.g., Track Changes, Comments, Compare)
