Managing Editor - Digital Humanities Quarterly
The Digital Humanities Quarterly Journal is seeking a Managing Editor to work as part of the journal team on all aspects of publication. The Managing Editors lead the production of this open-access, peer reviewed journal of digital humanities. This job involves an in-depth engagement with current digital humanities scholarship and publication technologies, working with a collaborative team at Northeastern and interacting with the journal’s international editorial board. The MEs are responsible for overseeing the journal’s production including logging and responding to new submissions, assigning reviewers, contributing to editorial decisions, and ensuring that the journal’s production process is smooth and professional. This position is a great opportunity to gain familiarity with the international digital humanities community and with XML-based publication systems, as well as with the details of open-access journal publication.

Project Description
Digital Humanities Quarterly is the world's leading open-access, peer reviewed journal of digital humanities. It is jointly published by the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations and the Association for Computers and the Humanities, and its editorial work is hosted at Northeastern University. It publishes articles on a wide range of topics in digital humanities, including special issues on topics such as minimal computing, race in digital humanities, film studies, and tools criticism (to name some recent topics). Articles are encoded in TEI/XML and published using an open-source publication system.

Qualifications Necessary
Organizational ability and written communication skills are important. Research interest in digital humanities would be very helpful. No prior experience with XML is required but you should be comfortable with learning new technical systems.
