NULab/DITI Research Fellow - NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science
NULab/DITI Research Fellows will work on research and teaching collaborations, documentation, website development, and other core activities of the NULab. Fellows will focus their summer work on helping the NULab's Digital Integration Teaching Initiative to bring new digital skills to classrooms across the humanities and social sciences. Fellows will partner with CSSH faculty to help design and teach workshops that integrate digital skills into humanities and social science classrooms.
Responsibilities for NULab/DITI Research Fellows include:
- Developing educational modules and assignments, including setting up and attending consultations with faculty members.
- Leading in-class workshops on digital tools and skills.
- Publicity and outreach for the program, including identifying and reaching out to faculty who might be interested in the initiative.
- Updating the DITI website and GitHub repository to reflect current modules and exercises.
- Developing guidelines and best practices around the DITI for both internal and external purposes.
Fellows may also work on other projects supporting the activities of the NULab, particularly updating and authoring content for the NULab website. As opportunities arise, Fellows may work on other NULab research initiatives, grant writing and administration, and other projects related to the NULab’s interdisciplinary teaching and research.

The NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science (https://cssh.northeastern.edu/nulab/) hosts a diverse group of faculty and graduate student research projects, sponsors talks and workshops on digital scholarship, and supports digital curricula at Northeastern through our Graduate Certificate in Digital Humanities and digital minors. The NULab is also the home of the Digital Integration Teaching Initiative (https://cssh.northeastern.edu/nulab/program/diti/), a program that pairs faculty and graduate students to bring new digital proficiencies into CSSH classrooms.

Qualifications Necessary
1) Strong communication and writing skills; good organizational skills and attention to detail. 2) Interest in digital humanities, computational social science, and related areas. Specific experience with digital tools and platforms may include Python and R; Excel, Zotero, or other database and citation software; website development; and/or text, geospatial, or network analysis tools and methods. 3) Experience teaching and leading workshops is a plus.
