Teaching Professor of Chinese

Dr. Ann Cai has extensive experience teaching Mandarin at Northeastern University, Harvard University and University of Kansas. She has considerable experience in integrating technology into the classroom as well. She has received distinction teaching awards from Harvard University from 2004 – 2008 and was a faculty scholar at Northeastern University from 2014-2015. Dr. Cai is a guest editor of the Journal of Research Initiatives, and has received a research grant on the project of “Two Tongues: Enhancing Second-Language Learning Using Bilingual Guided Meditation” (BGM®) within Northeastern University. The results of this research were presented at the 2018 American Psychological Association (APA) annual convention. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded the Academic Excellence Award at the doctoral level. Dr. Cai is a certified ACTFL OPI tester and has earned the PBLL (Project Based Language Learning) training badge by NFLRC, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education in 2018.
