Writing Center Tutor

Austin (they/them) is a second-year PhD student in the English department studying queer theory, disability studies, and their multiplicity of intersections with the American comic book superhero. They have experience addressing a variety of writings across a variety of disciplines. Austin’s areas of expertise specifically include CV/Resumes, literary analyses, Personal Statements/Statements of Purpose, MLA & APA citation styles, and formal structure. They value a holistic, curiosity driven approach to tutoring that places well-being as part of the writing process. Before attending NU, Austin taught first year writing at Quinsigamond Community College for 3 years. Outside of academia, Austin will talk long-windedly about pop culture at large and comics in specific. Seriously, they will go on and on. You’ve been warned.
