Garland Rieman

Writing Center Tutor

Garland is a first-year Master’s student in English Literature. She specializes in literary analysis, rhetorical arguments and humanities-based research papers. Her specific areas of interest include 19th century British Literature, the popular novel, print culture, fashion studies, and art history, although she likes working with students from all disciplines! She also enjoys working with creative writing, personal narratives and helping students prepare their materials for graduate school applications (including resumes, CVs, personal statements and statements of purpose). In terms of citations, she works with MLA and Chicago. Garland is from Wilmington, North Carolina and takes every opportunity to escape the cold weather and visit the beach whenever possible. She also enjoys spending afternoons in used bookstores, wandering around art exhibits and spending entirely too much money on last-minute concert tickets.
