This week commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Waco tragedy, the siege between FBI agents and members of the Branch Davidian religious group in Waco, Texas. The Branch Davidians were led by David Koresh who has been characterized by the media as a cult leader and a con man. Koresh led the resistance against federal agents for 51 days, but the fiery conflict ended with many lives lost. Were the Branch Davidians a cult or a religious group?
