Professor Candice Delmas is an assistant professor in both the Philosophy and Political Science departments at Northeastern. She is also the Associate Director of the Politics, Philosophy, and Economics Program. Before joining Northeastern, Professor Delmas was an assistant professor at Clemson University. Professor Candice received her M.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University and then went on to receive her Ph.D in Philosophy from Boston University in 2012. Among her other distinctions, she received a Masters 2 in Ethics and Politics from Université Paris IV Sorbonne as well as earned a B.A (Licence and Maitrise) from Université Paris X Nanterre.
Professor Candice specializes in ethics, social and political philosophy, and philosophy of law. Her areas of competence include: bioethics, neuroethics, and feminist theory. Her research is concerned with the grounds and limits of political authority, especially under conditions of injustice and what it entails for political responsibility.
