Coming to an end

By Ellie Rosen

As our project timeline is closely coming to an end, we are in the final stages of organizing our data, polishing up our report, and finalizing our recommendations.

As a team, we’ve identified four main pillars that impact intergenerational mobility. We find ourselves in awe each week at how complex and intertwined this topic is across all sectors and domains.

My portion of the project is devoted to the health care/health services aspect of creating positive change within communities and neighborhoods. It has been exciting for me to see how my current job providing direct care to low-income and underserved populations has guided my research and understanding of the larger, systemic issues that influence mobility.

We know that there is no magic fix for solving income inequality and social immobility, but we believe in the importance of neighborhood and community.

The most significant change happens at the ‘ground level’. The long-term goal of this project is to see more and more people successfully climbing up the mobility ladder and improving economic and social outcomes for each generation.

These next two weeks will be very busy for our team, and we are looking forward to our final presentation on April 25 and the completion of our report!
