Congratulations to Shiqin Liu, a student in the PhD in Law and Public Policy program who was awarded the 2018 Best Conference Paper Award from Urban Affairs Association (UAA)!

Liu received the award for Cultural Entrepreneurship in U.S. Cities, which she presented at the 2017 UAA Minneapolis Conference.

“This is a timely topic that has relevance for cities across and beyond the U.S.,” said the award committee. “The authors explored cultural activities from a multidimensional perspective, examining the roles of both regional location and other factors including ethnicity, firm size, industry concentration, patents, university presence, human capital, and unemployment rate in levels of cultural entrepreneurship.”
