Joan Fitzgerald named a fellow at the German Marshall Fund

We are excited to announce that Prof. Joan Fitzgerald has been appointed as a non-resident fellow at the German Marshall Fund (GMF) of the United States Cities division from September 1st, 2020 until March 31st, 2021.

GMF Cities supports local authorities and relevant stakeholders accelerate their fight against climate change using social and racial equity lens toward renewables-based energy systems. Prof. Fitzgerald’s work focuses on urban climate action and strategies for linking it to equity, economic development, and innovation. Her areas of research are intrinsically aligned with the strategic objectives of GMF Cities in its climate justice portfolio.

Speaking of her new fellowship, Fitzgerald said “I am delighted to be working with a dedicated group of GMF staff and fellows on these important issues.”
