Research Assistant

The Children and Family Research Center (CFRC) at the School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking to hire two temporary, hourly researchers to assist with qualitative data collection and analysis as part of an evaluation of children’s mental health systems of care (SOC) in Illinois. As part of the research team, these individuals will assist CFRC staff in conducting virtual site visits in five communities that have received funding from the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation and contribute to the qualitative data analysis and report writing from the site visits.

Responsibilities will involve:
• Document review (funding application, progress reports) prior to the site visits (5%)
• Qualitative data collection; co-lead virtual focus groups and interviews with research participants in each of the five sites (50%)
• Coding the transcripts using qualitative data analysis software such as Atlas.ti (45%)

We anticipate that the work will take approximately 10 hours a week during the fall semester 2022. The hourly rate is $50/hour. All work will be done remotely.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher; prior experience and expertise with qualitative data collection and analysis; experience with Atlas.ti software is strongly preferred but not absolutely required.
