Interpreting Strategies to Facilitate Interactions with DeafBlind People

Through an ongoing partnership with the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC), an annual training was held each spring to increase the number and quality of interpreters available to work with individuals who are DeafBlind.  The training consisted of a two-part hybrid course, held both online and face-to-face at HKNC.

Each year NURIEC offered support to four participants who attended the training to share the key learning points with interpreters and Deaf community members in their home communities, thus increasing the reach and impact of the training.
