As of October 1, 2016, the Regional Interpreter Education Center at Northeastern University (NURIEC) no longer provides support to this site because our funding has ended.

Vocational Rehabilitation

NURIEC is committed to work with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) providers in order to promote and realize effective utilization of interpreter services by professionals when working with their deaf and DeafBlind consumers.

The NURIEC provides webinars to VR personnel to promote effective utilization of interpreting resources. With advisory and outreach support from Regions I and II of TACE, the webinars have addressed topics on VR interpreter needs assessments and implications, the Deaf Self-Advocacy Training curriculum, how to work effectively with interpreters, and the Deaf interpreter.

The National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials (NCRTM) website is the central portal for accessing rehabilitation training resources. The site features robust search capabilities, a star quality rating system, enhanced usability and accessibility, and most importantly, new resources. Site content includes high quality training materials that cover a range of topics relevant to the rehabilitation and education communities. Additionally, while the clearinghouse focuses on current materials, an archive of NCRTM resources dating back to the 1960s will remain available.
