Doctoral Student Alexis Yohros Receives 2019 DBC Student Innovation Award

Alexis Yohros is a third year doctoral student in the Criminology and Justice Policy PhD Program at Northeastern. She has a passion for research and a multidisciplinary approach to the study of youth violence. Her research and policy interests include:

Recently, Alexis received the 2019 Student Innovation Award from the Division of Biopsychosocial Criminology of the American Society of Criminology for her paper on dating victimization and substance abuse, which was published in Drug and Alcohol Dependence. The award recognizes an exceptional paper by a current graduate student in the field of biopsychosocial criminology. The student must be the lead or solo author on the paper, and the paper must be either under review, accepted for publication, or published to be considered. Alexis was invited to the ASC Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA to receive the award.
