The Staff Engagement Task Force (SETF) met on 9/25/24. We reviewed the timeline for deliverables. A prominent goal is drafting and producing a final report, based on the survey conducted last spring, with recommendations for CSSH leadership to improve staff engagement. Jim Rollins emphasized that action on various ideas can be implemented before the report is produced. Several communications methods were highlighted that will be utilized this fall to share survey results and recommendations with staff. The group agreed to support current engagement efforts (e.g. Tuesdays Together, work and non-work related conversation in the CSSH Staff Teams Channel). There are three subcommittees focused on targeted areas of communications, feedback systems, and data analysis. Each subcommittee provided an update and will meet separately next week. The Data Analysis subcommittee will be working on analyzing the survey results into an initial draft report by the end of October. The Communications subcommittee will continue to identify opportunities to share information and engage with CSSH Staff. The Feedback subcommittee will confirm access to the email inbox, review feedback from submissions, clarify a process for feedback received, and further determine an accountability process for feedback. After the meeting, submissions shared through the feedback from were shared via Teams message. One request asked for the CSSH org chart which can be found here. Suggestions to incorporate this into onboarding and to include professional staff were discussed among SETF members. Feedback was received about racial and cultural literacy training done during onboarding via Academic Impressions. Effective 7/01/24, this is no longer required training upon hire as Northeastern explores other avenues for this content. We value your perspective and encourage you to share any additional information or feedback regarding your experience as a staff member in CSSH here: https://cssh.northeastern.edu/cssh-taskforce-feedback.
