PhD in Public Policy

Gloria is a PhD candidate in Public Policy concentrating in Sustainability and Resilience. She moved to Boston, MA from Miami, FL. Her dissertation research focuses on the global transition to the circular economy and how this transition has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This research integrates theories from economics, behavioral psychology, and disaster resilience and highlights comparative case studies among EU member states, Asia and Latin America to create policy implications for the U.S. Her mixed-methodological approaches include geospatial mapping (GIS), machine learning (neural networks, k-means cluster analysis, and random forests), and qualitative surveys. She speaks fluent Spanish and Swedish.
