The Graduate Consortium in Women’s Studies has announced a new pilot program for the 2016-2017 academic year. GCWS Micro-Seminars are five-week, ungraded, graduate level reading, writing, and discussion-based seminars that are organized around specific themes in WGSS. The seminars are open to institution member graduate students, seniors in WGSS or a related major, and to faculty. The Fall seminars include “Sex Panics and Social Control” and “Who Can Play? Race, Gender, Sports, and Bodies” and the Spring seminars include “A Reading with the Author: Compulsory: Education and the Dispossession of Youth in a Juvenile Prison” and “Critical Menstruation Studies.”
