CCIS dean named fellow of leading international computing society

Carla E. Brodley, dean of the College of Computer and Information Science, was named a 2016 fellow by the Association for Computing Machinery. Since being named dean in 2014, Brodley has implemented programs aimed at increasing the numbers of women and minorities in computer science, including the ALIGN program that allows students from other fields to pursue a graduate degree in computer science. Under her leadership, the undergraduate program has risen to 26 percent women, 10 percentage points higher than the national average.
