The Chronicle of Higher Education ran an article this week featuring Dr. Kathrin Zippel, WGSS Executive Committee member and Sociology professor. (To view this or any other paywalled CHE article through the NU Library, download this bookmarklet: http://library.northeastern.edu/bookmarklet.) The article highlights Zippel’s research into the role of international collaboration for women in STEM fields. Zippel’s book, Women in Global Science: Advancing Academic Careers Through International Collaboration (Stanford University Press, 2017) posits that American women in STEM benefit when collaborating internationally because of the elevated status of U.S. academic institutions. Zippel has also recently written pieces for the Washington Post and Inside Higher Ed.
