Milk Milk Lemonade is a coming of age story based in the 80s which centers around a young man, Emory, as he explores how his sexuality interacts both with his environment and with the important people around him. The humorous cast ranges from Emory’s Nanna, an abrasive widow turned chicken farmer with traditional values to Emory’s best friend, Linda the depressed chicken, whose clucks are translated by Lady in Leotard, an all over the place narrator. And then there’s Elliot, the boy from down the road who just happens to show up at Emory’s place any time he has a free moment. The play is essentially a comedy with a dash of romance and a bit of drama, but most importantly it has a whole lot of heart.
