In this 250th anniversary year of the Declaration of Independence, view excerpts from the new documentary film In Search of Phillis Wheatley Peters and hear from the filmmakers, Leslie Askew and Turlough WhiteKabria Baumgartner, Dean’s Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies, will moderate a conversation with the filmmakers and Nicole Aljoe, Professor of English and Africana Studies, on how they brought the inspiring story of America’s first published Black author and her life in Boston to the screen.
