[Nov 19] Becoming Lesbian in Modern France: Queer History for Troubled Times

Global France Seminar presents Tamara Chaplin’s Becoming Lesbian in Modern France: Queer History for Troubled Times. Historian Tamara Chaplin has spent the last fifteen years researching what it meant to “become lesbian” in twentieth century France. Her book argues that this process was inextricable from access to public space and public media. At a moment when queer lives around the globe are increasingly under attack, join Tamara for a conversation about what we can learn from lesbian history in these troubled times.

Wednesday, November 19th, 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM, MIT Building 14N-112 (map)
