What excites you about working at the Writing Center? I really like meeting fellow Northeastern community members, and helping them communicate their thoughts and find their voices through writing. Sharing your writing can make you feel extremely vulnerable, so I’m honored that my peers trust me to support them in their writing journeys. Working with people is my passion, so doing that every week is really enjoyable for me. Plus, all my coworkers are awesome! I’ve learned a lot from working with them.
What’s been surprising to you? I have learned so much about a vast number of subjects just from reading different students’ works! I feel like every session I tutor, I learn something new. My favorite assignment that someone has brought in was on how the trolley problem can be applied to self-driving cars, which is something I would never have thought about.
What skills do you bring as a tutor? I like to think that I am open-minded, empathic, and flexible
Anything else you’d like us to know? Fun Fact – I play the flute and saxophone, I can bake a mean apple pie, and I’m passionate about racial justice!
