Are YOU the face of CSSH?

Looking for a leadership opportunity that involves sharing your memorable experiences in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities? Enjoy talking about what an experiential liberal arts education means to you? Interested in participating in question and answer panels with prospective students and visiting guests during Welcome Days?

If you answered yes to the questions above, we invite you to apply to the CSSH Ambassadors program! The CSSH Ambassadors represent the CSSH student perspective in a variety of events, most significantly comprising recruitment and yield programming and events held in conjunction with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In addition, the Ambassadors provide a vetted pool to assist with college and departmental programs and presentations. They help to further strengthen our student network within the college, highlight and publicize areas of student/faculty research opportunities, and share stories of their individual pathway through CSSH with prospective and admitted students. If you are interested in being a part of a dynamic and diverse group of students, please complete the form below and upload a resume. The application period is open throughout the year; students selected to move forward with the interview process will be contacted shortly.

CSSH Ambassadors will be compensated $17/hour for Spring 2024. Ambassadors can expect to commit an average of 3-6 hours per month to the program during the Spring semester. Spring is a busy time for Admissions events, so there is a larger time commitment. While some events are optional, there are a few events and programs that you will be required to participate in, such as a prospective student text-a-thon and university Welcome Days.

At this time, we are only accepting applications from the following majors and combined majors: Africana Studies, Criminal Justice (particular need for Criminal Justice/Psychology combined majors), English, Global Asian Studies, Human Services, and Philosophy/Religious Studies. We also strongly encourage applications from students who participated in the NU Bound program in Oakland or London, as we are looking to ensure that the group represents current students who entered NU through all admissions pathways.

NOTE: We are not accepting applications for the CSSH Ambassador role at this time. Check back in this summer to apply for the 2024-2025 academic year!
