Prospective applicants, please read through all of the information below before submitting an application.

Looking for a leadership opportunity that involves sharing your memorable experiences in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities? Enjoy talking about what an experiential liberal arts education means to you? Interested in participating in question and answer panels with prospective students and visiting guests during Welcome Days?

If you answered yes to the questions above, we invite you to apply to the CSSH Ambassadors program! The CSSH Ambassadors represent the CSSH student perspective in a variety of events, most significantly comprising recruitment and yield programming and events held in conjunction with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In addition, the Ambassadors provide a vetted pool to assist with college and departmental programs and presentations. They help to further strengthen our student network within the college, highlight and publicize areas of student/faculty research opportunities, and share stories of their individual pathway through CSSH with prospective and admitted students. If you are interested in being a part of a dynamic and diverse group of students, please complete the form below.

CSSH Ambassadors will be compensated $18/hour for Fall 2026. Ambassadors can expect to commit an average of 1-3 hours per month to the program during the fall semester. Since the CSSH Ambassador work follows the Admissions cycle, fall is a slower time, and students can expect more opportunities during the spring semester.

We are accepting applications from all majors for Fall 2026, but have a strong need for the following majors and combined majors: American Sign Language, Africana Studies, Global Asian Studies, Criminal Justice, Economics, History, History, Culture, & Law, Human Services, Philosophy/Religious Studies, and Sociology/Anthropology. We also strongly encourage applications from students who participated in the London and New York City Scholars programs and students who began their time on the Oakland campus as we are looking to ensure that the group represents students who enter NU through all admissions programs.

Note: This position is open to undergraduate students housed in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities who are in good academic standing only. Students in their second year and above, except graduating seniors in their final semester, will be considered for the role.

What is the application deadline for Fall 2026?

The priority deadline for Fall 2026 is May 31st, 2026.

When will I hear back?

Select candidates will be notified to schedule an interview by mid-June.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
